Proposed 2025 Budget Invests $100 Million in Economic Development

PITTSBURGH – At today’s Allegheny County Economic Development Authorities meeting, the Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County (RAAC) approved several major actions to drive housing, innovation, and community development forward.

The Redevelopment Authority of Allegheny County (RAAC) assists with generation, stimulation, and management of economic and community growth. It acquires and prepares local real estate for economic development, manages financing from public sources, and facilitates the reuse of vacant, tax-delinquent, or blighted properties.

RAAC Board approved a resolution to enter into an agreement with Allegheny County to administer $10 millionin local capital funds to support housing and inclusive growth projects across Allegheny County. RAAC Board also authorized the Authority to submit 24 applications to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for assistance under the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP), totalingnearly $33 million in investments for projects across Allegheny County. These projects will create thousands of jobs and will support community revitalization, economic development, and quality of life improvements. These 24 projects are also separate and in addition to other recently announced RACP projects awarded for the City of Pittsburgh to support Downtown’s revitalization and other projects that are administered by the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh.
